Now that being said, asking if “looks matter” is like asking “do strength and size matter in a fight?”

Sure… all other things being equal. The stronger, bigger guy with equal motivation and skill and determination will almost certainly beat the weaker, smaller guy… UNLESS THE SMALLER GUY PICKS UP A WEAPON AND GETS IN THE FIRST GOOD F@@KING HIT!

Most of the time, if you aren’t (in your own mind, perhaps) fabulously great looking, BUT you take good care of yourself, a woman will be neutral to your look. She won’t rule you out but she won’t be feeling any butterflies or pangs of irresistible arousal EITHER. That’s where your girl-getting game comes in…to create those feelings.

Look: I wish I looked like a movie star. But I don’t. I am who I am. So, am I going to cry in my f@@king chicken soup about it? Or am I going to use everything I DO have to get where I want to go?

Present yourself as best you can physically, take good care of yourself, wear clothes that fit you well RIGHT NOW. Stop c@&k-blocking yourself until you “lose a few” or “get your teeth fixed” or whatever excuse you’ve been making, and instead crank up your girl-getting game and you’ll find out that chicks will, in fact, dig you.

The other day, I was doing an interview with an instructor in this field who is one of the few guys I actually respect. (When the interview goes live on his site, I’ll be sure to let you know).

Here is a recent case in point: I met a woman at my most recent LA seminar and it was clear she was attracted to me.. And I was attracted to her: hot, fun, smart, just how I like them.

We wind up hanging out two Sundays ago, and I had a great time with her, but this girl was clearly uncertain about how she felt with what I do for a living. She kept going back and forth between being clearly into me, and then bombarding me with questions. And try as I might to defuse it, I wound up getting NOWHERE with her.

Wait a second, you may be thinking. What kind of seduction guru brags about NOT getting somewhere with a woman?

Listen: the reality that no other “guru” will share with you, is that dealing with women, no matter how good your skill set, will occasionally feel a bit crazy. Women being the lovely chaotic and complex people that they are, can suddenly turn cold, display contradictory behavior, and behave pretty nuts from time to time.

Unless you have a disciplined method for dealing with the s&$t when it hits the fan, it will wind up sticking. Mostly right to you.

When this happens, it’s crucial you have a disciplined method, in place and ready, to rapidly handle the confusion and frustration and not let it color your sense of possibility in the world.

In my direct teaching work with students, a question that frequently comes up is from a smart guy who wonders if he let a “sure thing” just walk away. He’ll encounter a smoking-hot, sweet-smelling hottie, some things will happen like snuggling, making out, etc. He knows he could probably score a home run if he took his best swing at bat, but for whatever reason, he walks.

This thought-provoking e-mail is a case in point:

Ross, I’m wondering if I missed an opportunity to get laid!

The other day I was flying home from Las Vegas. Normally when I fly I like to read a book, take a nap, and be alone, but my seatmate, Felicia, was really cute and open. She’s from Phoenix and married. I ran some patterns and did some anchoring by touching her arm and face, which she seemed to enjoy. After while she wanted to nap. She tried to get comfortable but kept stirring. So I nudged her and said “Felicia….” as I lifted up the arm rest and moved her close so she could cuddle with me while she napped. I held her close and enjoyed her perfume and her warm body next to me.

After the flight, before I left her at baggage claim, I thanked her for the best plane ride EVER, hugged and kissed her, and handed her my card and said “If I can ever be of service you….be well, Felicia” and walked away from her without another word. Part of it was because her in-laws were picking her up and I didn’t want a scene, but I enjoyed the ability to Sarge, then walk away from a scenario that I know isn’t worth my time.

I wanted to leave her with the memory of the plane ride and let HER wonder about ME, knowing she holds the key to me if she chooses to turn it. On the other hand, I am wondering if I missed out and I should have “gone for it” anyway. Did I let it walk away?

You’re right – you won’t hear from her again – but that’s not the point. You were able to Sarge and have an enjoyable experience with a sweet-smelling hottie who was open and willing.

Okay, you didn’t get laid. Sounds like you didn’t try. And if she’s “petting the kitty” thinking about you and the plane ride now, that’s not the same as you doing it for her. But I’ll wager it felt good having her snuggling up to you, didn’t it? I bet every guy on the airplane who saw you wished he was a “stud” like you.

Remember: when you practice Speed Seduction® in your pursuit of the women you desire, it’s not about succeeding with the woman you are Sarging on right now. It’s about honing and mastering your skills to claim your results on your next 10 Sarges. If you ask me, you should have kissed her and made out with her, but you didn’t. This experience prepared you for next time this happens – and in your pursuit of girl-getting mastery, it WILL.

So again, you didn’t poke her, but you know THIS plane ride sure beat a poke in the eye!
