Any connection with the work of Peter Levine?
    Also looks like Shamanic healing.

Thanks for sharing this very interesting post.

Both are body-based, both recognize and deal with the somatic aspects of trauma, both work, and Berceli told me he has spoken with Levine many times.

I think TRE trumps Levine’s work because it’s something you can use as a daily practice, it teaches self-regulation and containment, or rather, shows people how to build these skills themselves, without the need of expensive therapy.

I know Levine and Berceli know and respect one another.

Thanks for the reply. It motivates me to look closer to this.

No comments on the shamanic comparison? I thought that as a “psychic” practitionner you could have had some interesting parallel to make.

By the way I would like to add, that personnally I have known some kind of traumatic releases like those shown in the video. Not with such amplitude, but I know by feeling that it is similar. And those happened during tantric massages and shamanic sessions (thus my question 🙂 ). However I will take a deeper look to this technique and see if it suits me .
        Thanks again Ross.
And by the way, wishing you the best for this new path…

Gar, I’ve heard from more than one TRE person that the tremors are sometimes like what they’ve experienced in Tantra etc, but TRE has its basis in neurology and science, and not eastern traditions.

Paul, this is good stuff. David Berceli has instructional DVDs with people demonstrating various exercises. I managed to get a hold of that footage.

It’s good stuff, I recently started, there’s a feeling of relaxation after the spasms, you feel like you’re walking on air afterwards. I haven’t been consistent enough with it on a daily basis though.

How long have you been doing this?
And what kind of results have you experienced?

Oleg, go slowly with TRE. The important skills are self-regulation and containment. Slow is faster with this.

Ross, I have had those kinds of involuntary tremors specially when I am with a woman and having strong emotions… Those are actually good times for me, and the girls actually find it interesting, but since you bring the subject what could I do with that, and how could I evoke it again for that kind of exercise? Looks cool.

Humans tremble when they are excited. Fear or excitement, it’s the same mechanism for releasing the nervous energy.

    Hello Ross,
thank you for sharing! As there is no contact on their site for my country, Bulgaria, would you recommend the DVD products? I would imagine you will need a trained person on the system to work with you?

I tried the exercises, just today I had a small trauma reviewing the results I got in my life during the last 3 years. Even if I had no tremors (sport is my passion) after the exercises I felt a higher degree of clarity.
I guess that there is a component of mindfulness and acceptance related to the pain, and equanimity toward body unpleasant perceptions, doing exercises.
I don’t know why I couldn’t start up quiverings and tremors: meditation and daily sport activity? or rather because I did the exercizes improperly?

I strongly recommend you look for a practitioner in your area and get a private lesson or go to a group class or training before you start your own practice, although many people learn by watching a DVD.

Not everyone tremors right away. Don’t worry about it.

    Hey RJ,

You mentioned TRE to me on a Monday call in about 6 weeks ago. Thank you! I have been doing the exercises for 5 weeks- it’s given me great peace of mind and a profound sense of tranquility. This is so much more powerful and immediate than trying to establish a meditation practice (I’ve been meditating most of the last 30+ years). This is the fast track to healing and peace of mind.

I hesitate to throw words around like “miraculous” because it implies things that are sloppy and untrue, but I can without doubt say TRE is a profoundly powerful modality.

It doesn’t address belief change and it does NOT replace meditation which has benefits that are different and in some ways more important than TRE. But my TRE practice makes my sitting meditation practice significantly easier to do.

So glad I could be your first introduction to this amazing practice.

    Thanks for sharing, Ross.

Are you familiar with EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique)?
I’ve heard that EFT has also helped people release traumas such as PTSD.

Have heard of it, but it seems like pattern interrupts, fractionating and reframing with a lot of nonsense surrounding it.

It looks to me like Emotional Release Therapy, which had gained some popularity back in the mid nineties but you had to do the session with a therapist trained in it and it was not cheap!

@Rich Don’t know what ERT is about, but check out and practice TRE for yourself and see how it does.

Hey Ross, although I don’t use Speed Seduction in my daily life I have gained a lot from your tips and your wisdom. It was you that introduced me to Mark Cunningham and Essential-Skills, who’s products I still use today. To say that you’ve taught transformed my life is a bit of an understatement.

I’m constantly looking for knowledge and doing my best to teach it to those who want to learn just like you and when I find something really valuable I can’t help but show it to as many people as possible. The TRE work is an immensely valuable tool but it’s actually derived from Alexander Lowen’s (and Reich’s) BioEnergetics techniques. I believe Berceli found the technique and did the necessary research and rebranding needed to call it his own, but it’s not original.

For the last few months I’ve been doing something in the same vein as TRE called Radical Undoing. It’s based on Reichian therapy and was founded by Christopher Hyatt and Israel Regardie, who was a student of Aleister Crowley. The whole goal of Radical Undoing is to create more “free will” by releasing muscle tension in a systematic way and connecting the higher brain/ creative-adaptive brain/ frontal lobe to the more primitive instincts/brain, so you’re able to gain more control over your life than you ever thought possible.

Try out this fun exercise and check out radicalundoing.com if you’re interested:

TRE is valuable and powerful, and I believe that Berceli, whatever his influences, has brought something valuable to the table.

Wow this could be very interesting for myself, and a few people I know. Ross, could this be used for anxiety, social anxiety, and emotional blocks or is it for more serious issues. I have heard that the founder for TRE works mainly with members of war-torn countries who have suffered serious issues rather than just being severely bullied ect.

Hey ross you are right this is a very powerful modality. I was wondering where in a ritual would you use TRE?

    • Avatar
      Ross Jeffries April 16, 2015, 2:10 pm

I wouldn’t mix it with anything in that regard, but I would do it before a sitting meditation.

Not sure when we’re doing another Magick seminar, but we are considering a live Speed Seduction event in Los Angeles in early summer where we MAY include at least some Magick principles. Stick with us, more to come.
