    Yeah, this would work two ways at least and perhaps more if you look at it as simply the I/you shift commonly used in patterns.

    The Huna model would say referring to the habitual subconscious mind as “you” would be more true than calling it “I.” This would help in changing habits.

    Just thinking outside the box in any way helps dump old patterns and energy.

    Ross,
    If i wanted to give seminars about this at a university. Whom can i contact about that. I want to write a scientifically supported course for SS as a one year university level course.

    Its just an idea right now and i am genuine about pursuing it. It is not full SS with its detailed and quite comprehensive advice but rather the theoretical model with some applications.

    On a separate tangent, i noticed that when i “charged up” with an affirmation, my body would enter this state and i would feel these feelings inside building up. The feelings were kinda like an internal struggle. So i did some of the open focus since it works for me and calmed down and drooped into my belly and just sat there relaxing into the feeling, breathing slowly, giving up any attempt to figure it out at the same time focusing on the space inside my body (its like trying to imagine feeling your intestines or your whole body all at once) Then this feeling just let go and it all faded into complete relaxation. Then i got up quickly without any time to give it more thought and went to make food.

    Its just interesting to me, how after THAT experience, i literally felt the changes rapidly influencing my behavior, timing, openness, everything.

    Some background, i didn’t do any affirmations for weeks and i just jumped back on the boat using a double induction; recording of my own voice + affirmations with the meditation. (To anyone else, I have a strong background in hypnosis and meditation.)

    I cant thank you enough. I reallly really cant, its just you are like an ad-visor in my brain, not quite as important as my mother or father, but rather the uncle i go to when my parents cant understand my needs, my need for how and why. Someone i want to use my mind for but not just only for, rather to continue on in a new way. Like a living Einstein.

    You can always tell something is a huge influence when it becomes part of the eyes you see through each and every day. Like a visor or goggles or glasses they are more than just a piece of knowledge, they are part of how we construct knowledge.

    To you Ross, the complement is long overdue.

      @Jo Wow. Thanks. And good use of combining what works for you. I like the “Open Focus” material. It has similarities to Shinzen’s work, and I can see how using it in combination with affirmations could work well.

      I like being the “Nutty Uncle” so consider me that.

    POWERFUL! If you notice, probably 90% of your negative mental chatter is in the form of a “You” statement…maybe even in a voice other than your own ( parental/ authority figure, past girlfriend, peer, etc.). This dynamic, powerful yet Minute/miniscule change could open up a IMMENSE amount of leverage in our ability to autosuggest/program, YET the exact opposite is all you will find on the net. RJ is the ONLY one I have heard or read about who has mentioned this concept thus far.So simple, yet profound, and right in front yo face, like your nose but ya didn’t ever really notice it. Speaking for myself, I’m a scientist in that the only way to reap the benefits of this info is to work dis shit, experiment with it. Peace

    Hi Ross,

    Up until now, I’ve few products but I noticed the 2 affirmations “You” use above are from “Unstoppable Confidence” In that you suggest 10-15 mins every day for 2 to 3 weeks and with giving you success for the rest of you life.

    I’m genually inquisitive, I just wondered, Is this something worth topping up on after the 2-3 weeks like a re-charge (As and When you feel like it)?

    Or, is it more like 1 stage in a whole process of tools?

    I recognized that to speak affirmation is not as good as to see it in upredictable place. I wrote down list of affirmation in a piece of paper and put it to the floor. Every day I moved this A4 – It was working very effective. Some times ago I’ve found small app for my android tablet on google play – Affirmation Toaster. I use Ross’s affirmations while watching videos – Effect is rapid!

    Interesting information here. While it contradicts the everyday teaching of these methods, most of Ross’s teaching is anything but everyday! I’m fascinated to play around with these and see what happens. Thanks for the intriguing viewpoint. 🙂

      The destructive results of the “everyday teaching” (which is either influenced by, or created by, the Romance Racketeers) is why I do this.
