Show of hands: who loves it when someone plays “20 questions” with you, just asking question after question after question?
Do you feel your head already expanding, preparing to explode?
Does it remind you of those annoying conversations interrogations at family reunions with your Great-Aunt Twice-Removed Whatshername, pelting you with question after question, not like she really understands the answers or honestly gives a rat’s ass how you answer anyway?
So imagine the woman you’ve just approached, getting pelted with questions from this guy (you) she just met.
That’s not going to hook her interest.
This is where you instead,
Make The Conversation Sargy By
Using Conversation Softeners
For example:
“I hope you don’t mind me asking…”
“When I like to get to know someone…” (see what I did there?)
“I’m curious about something…”
“One way that I enjoy getting to know someone is to ask them about…” (see above, I’m at it again)
THEN get into the topic at hand.

P.S. The real genius is how it all seems like a normal, innocent conversation, that cannot be detected by anyone watching as anything but two people simply talking!
